The rules that sit behind a licence

An Anjouan licence is permission to offer remote gaming to the public from the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, on the conditions published with that licence. The public register, not a private letter, is the record of whether that permission is in force.

Jurisdiction

The Authority is established for the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, in the Union of the Comoros. The device on this site is the crescent and four stars of the Union. The motto of the Union is Unité — Solidarité — Développement. A licence issued here is an Anjouan remote gaming licence. It names the legal entity, the domains, and the addresses. It does not authorise land-based premises, and it does not extend to another territory merely because a customer is there.

What the Authority supervises

The Authority licences and supervises remote gaming conducted by a legal entity: casino, sports betting, poker, lottery, bingo, and the supply of a gaming platform to operators. A licence does not authorise land-based premises, and it does not travel with a brand name. It attaches to the legal entity, the domains, and the addresses named on the record.

Conditions

Every licence is held on conditions. The core conditions are the same for the whole register:

  • The operator is fit and proper, and tells the Authority when control of the legal entity changes.
  • Games are offered only on the domains named on the licence.
  • Players are adults. Self-exclusion and account limits are available before a deposit is taken.
  • Customer funds are identifiable, and the operator can explain where they are held.
  • Suspicious activity is reported, and records are kept so the Authority can reconstruct a decision.
  • Advertising does not target children and does not describe a product the licence does not cover.

How status is published

Status is one of five values: application received, active, suspended, expired, or revoked. Only an active licence may be presented to the public as permission to operate. The seal an operator embeds on a website is generated from that status. When the status changes, the same image address starts returning the matching seal.

Verification is free. Anyone can search the public register or open the certificate page linked from the seal and save that page as a PDF.
